Dorman’s work explores the realities of conflict today, its immediate impacts and long-term consequences. Dorman worked as an officially accredited war artist in Afghanistan on a number of trips from 2009 - 2013. This body of work, entitled Before the Dawn is Dorman's response to her journeys across Afghanistan. Before the Dawn premiered in 2014 to global critical acclaim.
